Shadows...
The shadows are just as important as the light in this photograph. And the monument was an ideal way to cope with the massive contrast!
Summer tree, Ayrshire, Scotland
A beautiful tree shot from a field of barley on a stormy summers evening. This was shot during the Covid lockdown in 2020 and is within walking distance of my house.
Symmetry, Glencoe, Scotland
Mirro reflections at this loch in Glencoe. The wait for an hour or so for the rain to clear was worth it.
Evening light, Castle Stalker, Scottish highlands
Lovely late evening light at this iconic Scottish Castle.
Twisted, Glencoe, Scotland
I love the shape of this belligerent looking tree in Glencoe
Tolkiens rainbow, Barnweil, Ayrshire
Stormy weather produced these lovely conditions at this local monument. Like something from Lord of the Rings.
Light on the shire
After an evening of sunshine and showers I gambled that there might be one last burst of light left. And there was. Probably my favourite kind of light.
Rannoch Reflections, Glencoe, Scotland
A 330am Summer alarm call was well worth it for this beautiful sunrise at Rannoch more near Glencoe.
Golden hour
Late summer grasses lit at the end of the end at Dunure Castle, Scotland
End of days
Early September 2021 found me chasing mist across the countryside. There was a huge bank of mist just offshore but it didn't extend inland as far as I'd like, though it did help diffuse the setting sun. The title signifies a few things to me - end of the summer, end of lockdown - and the hope of better days ahead.
Awakening
Alarm calls before 4am generally aren't something I relish, but on this occasion a beautiful misty sunrise at Rannoch moor made it worthwhile.
